Featured Therapist: Meet Libby!

Meet Libby!

1. What sparked your interest in bodywork?

At 17, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, an autoimmune condition which affects joint linings, causing painful swelling and lasting damage to the body. Through the years, I experienced the healing power of movement, energy work, and massage. I started massage school at Cypress Health Institute, here in Santa Cruz, and fell in love with the physical and energetic healing that can occur.

2. What is your favorite part about being a massage therapist?

I believe there is so much joy to be released through massage and I feel honored to be a small part of my clients' journey. I love offering a space for grounding, embodiment, and healing.

3.What do you consider your specialty as a Massage Therapist?

I believe that our physical body and our energetic body are inseparable. I blend Swedish Massage and Polarity energetic techniques because I have found that this combination allows for a variety of physical and emotional releases as well as deepened relaxation.

4. What is your ultimate goal as a Massage Therapist?

I am currently getting certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. I plan on continuing training as a trauma informed bodyworker and expanding my "tool kit” with different modalities of massage. I plan on getting embodiment practitioner training, and trauma informed yoga teacher training. I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and exploring.
